Two new video players for Mac

After spending more than a year without one of these fun pieces of software (the last ones I was aware of were VLC and MpLayer), there are now TWO NEW video player for mac :

  • NicePlayer (which was pimped by one of Perian‘s developers in an Ars Technica interview), features a total absence of UI by default (controls only appear when you hover) and manages the feat of being at the same time QuickTime-based and extremely responsive.
  • Clip Show, which has a very nice, minimalist and iLife-06-like interface.

Short Circuit in Clip Show

I currently have a slight preference for Clip Show, with its very well thought-out preferences, but NicePlayer is so totally unobstrusive it’s hard not to like its zen concept…
