A nice year for Hurricanes – Rita

The tropical storm that Rita was a few days ago has been upgraded to a real, full-force category 5 hurricane. A pressure of 897mb has been recorded in its center, which makes Rita the 3rd most powerful hurricane ever observed over the Atlantic ocean (puny Katrina is now 5th with its ridiculous 902mb).
Fortunately, there is still time for Rita to weaken a little before it hits the texan shoreline sometimes saturday. What is going to happen is still unclear at that point though.
Up to now, 2005 is the year with the most hurricanes since 1950, and the hurricane season is not even over ! With a little bit of bad luck, we’ll see a 20th hurricane, which will be called Vince
